Military Appreciation Day 2012

Military Appreciation Day 2012 is quickly closing upon us, and the Knight’s want to take a stand this year. The Army Black Knight’s football team will be playing the Temple Owls in West Point on November 17th, 2012.
On what will be that last home game for the Knight’s football season, pulling off a win here will be more significant than any other game this season, with the possible exception of the annual
Army
-Navy game.
Temple
was a tough team to beat last year, finishing with a 9-4 record, including an unmerciful beating of the Black Knights. Temple didn’t have a special recruiting class this year, ranked 7th by one recruiting service out of the 8 schools currently competing in the Big East conference. With Army recruiting themselves not having pulled off a devastating class this year, it looks like a perfect opportunity for one of the intriguing players for Army, such as
Michael McFadden
, an impressive Defensive Back from Huntsville, Alabama. He’s a game-changing type of player who can have one of the largest impacts in this class for the Black Knights. He has some size, speed, power, great hands, and even better natural football instincts. His father was a West Point graduate, and Michael himself graduated with a near-perfect GPA. Hopefully he’ll have a big role in the game against Temple, coming up about 4 and a half months from now.
Through a lot of bad stretches that Army football fans, as well as Coach Ellerson had to endure, Army has been able to pull off Military Appreciation Day victories over the last two years. Last year, they were able to demolish
Fordham
55-0 with help from a stellar starting debut for
Max Jenkins
. Unfortunately, that was also their last victory of the season. In 2010, Army beat the Virginia Military Keydets 29-7 on Military Appreciation Day. While the Knights have their work cut out for them, as Temple won’t be anywhere as easy as those two games, I think that they just might be able to deliver another victory for Military members and families all across the country.
