PASSING OFFENSE
C-
David Pevoto
and
Carson Williams
combine to complete 21 of 33 passes for 230 yards, 1 touchdown and one interception. Pevoto got the interception and Williams the touchdown. The pass by Williams to win the game in overtime was a thing of beauty.
RUSHING OFFENSE
D-
Just 46 yards net rushing. Not many teams will win with these kind of numbers.
Wesley McMahand
led the way with 44 yards. Mike Vito scored Army's lone touchdown during regulation.
PASSING DEFENSE
B+
Rhode Island's Derek Cassidy was sacked 5 times and limited to just 145 yards passing.
RUSHING DEFENSE
B
Army limited RI to just 158 total yards in 60 rushing attempts. Outstanding rush defense. Linebacker
Frank Scappaticci
had 10 tackles and a forced fumble for Army.
SPECIAL TEAMS
B
Some bright spots here.
Jeremy Trimble
had a 44-yard punt return.
Owen Tolson
averaged 47 yards a punt and had a long one of 59. Kicker
Adam DeMarco
made 2 critical extra points but missed a 39-yard field goal attempt in the fourth quarter that might have won the game for Army in regulation.
COACHING
B-
Hey, they won the game, something
Michigan
couldn't do last week. Congrats to coach Brock on getting his first career win. Now build on that.
OVERALL GRADE
B
The only thing worse than an ugly win is a beautiful loss. We'll take this anyday. Just get the offense fixed and more good things could happen. Now on to bigger and better things like beating
Wake Forest
on Saturday.
