Army outfielder/pitcher Cole White and catcher Chris Simmons are expected to be selected tomorrow, on the second day of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player draft. The draft began today with 10 rounds. White and Simmons could likely go within the first 25 rounds.

White, who will play outfielder in the pros, holds four Army career records, homers (28), doubles (44), total bases (380) and slugging percentage (.588). He ended his career as a .359 hitter. He hit .373 this year with eight homers and 30 RBI.

Meanwhile, Simmons hit .318 with eight homers and 42 RBI. Army already has two alum in the pros, pitchers Nick Hill anf Milan Dinga. Seattle took Hill in the seventh round last year and Dinga went to the Angels in the 10th.

Hill is 1-6 with a 4.27 ERA in 14 games, including nine starts, for the High Desert Mavericks of the full-season Class A California League. Dinga, experiencing shoulder problems, is on the disabled list.
