WEST POINT-- It wasn't pretty at times but the end result was what the Army team and its fans wanted: another win. Army continued to show improvement with their rushing attack on Saturday as the Cadets piled up 341 rushing yards in route to a 17-13 win over Eastern Michigan. The Black Knights were led by Collin Mooney who rushed for an impressive 229 yards including a long run for 67-yards.

Wesley Mcmahand scored on a 13-yard run to culminate a lightning fast 4-play drive to start the game which gave the Black Knights an early 7-0 lead.

Eastern Michigan responded by scoring 3 consecutive times in the second quarter to take a 13-7 lead.

Army struck back with an 18-yard Matthew Campbell field goal in the third quarter to cut the EMU lead to 13-10. The Black Knights then took the lead for good on a Chip Bowden 9-yard scoring run. Bowden finished with 32 yards rushing and Wesley McMahand added 46.

Collin Mooney boosted his seasonal rushing total to 645 yards, the highest single season ground total by an Army player since Wesley McMahand posted 654 rushing yards in 2006.

Army improves to 2-4 with the win. The Black Knights will attempt to win their third straight game when they travel to Buffalo on Saturday. Eastern Michigan falls to 2-4 and will host Akron on Saturday.
