Army Baseball: Champions!

WEST POINT-- The Army Black Knights swept Lafayette today, 6-2, 8-1, to win the 2009 Patriot League Tournament Championship.

In game one, Black Knight centerfielder Ernesto Andy smacked a double and home run. Pitcher Matt Fouch scattered six hits over eight innings and struck out eight batters.

In game two, Army catcher J.T. Watkins drove in four runs on two hits and Cadet pitcher Ben Koenigsfeld struck out 9 while allowing just one earned run.

This is Army's fifth Patriot League Baseball Tournament Championship. The Black Knights previously won titles in 1997, 2000, 2004 and 2005.
