Maxx Forde, a 3-star player from Woodinville, Wash. has named Army as one of his favorites. He would like to visit Army and also plans to camp at Washington, Stanford and Oregon. Look inside for complete details.
"Just taking it as it goes and seeing how it goes," is how
Maxx Forde
of Woodinville High School describes his handling of the recruiting process.
At 6-foot-4, 230 pounds and with a 4.69 hand timed forty, Maxx Forde has ideal size and speed for a defensive end. A three-sport standout, Forde also stars in track and basketball. In 2009 as a junior, he placed 14th in the shot put (49'-6") in state. His 2009 personal best is 52'-6". Several schools have already taken notice of this talented athlete.
Forde currently has offers from
Army
,
Air Force
,
Idaho
,
Washington State
and
Wyoming
. Additionally the star player, who is the son of a former NFL player, has interest from
Washington
,
Stanford
, and
Oregon
. Forde camped at Washington on Sunday, June 14th and also plans to camp at Oregon and Stanford.
Near the end of May, Forde received a visit from Army offensive coordinator Ian Shields. "He talked to me about the prospects of going there. I hadn't really heard much about them before that and that's when they offered me. He just started talking to me about what it would mean to go there and all the positives," said Forde.
While Forde admitted that he needed to find out more about the United States Military Academy he certainly hasn't ruled it out. "There's definitely a lot of good things about going there so it's definitely somewhere that I'm going to think about," said Forde. He continued, "Coming out as an officer that's definitely a great honor and a great responsibility...there are a lot of positives to being an officer."
When asked who his favorite schools were Forde replied that all the schools that offered him are his favorites. If Army can get him to West Point, who knows what could happen?
Forde wants to visit Army but because of the long distance and cost involved he feels that it will likely have to be an official visit. Forde has a 3.73 GPA and did well on the ACT.
