First off, hats off to Caleb Campbell. He's handled himself with class since this wild ride began when the Detroit Lions drafted him in the seventh round of the NFL draft in April. Unfortunately, the Department of Army has ended it prematurely by revising the controversial alternative service option (ASO), put in place in 2005. Campbell deserved a lot better than this.    Full Story

Just like he used to do at West Point's Doubleday Field, Cole White is spraying the ball around New York-Penn League ballparks. In a new role, the leadoff hitter, White, who graduated from the Academy in May, is batting .370 for the State College (Pa.) Spikes. The Spikes are a Class A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. White is currently on an 11-game hitting streak, dating back to June 27th.    Full Story

Former Army pitcher Milan Dinga pitched one scoreless inning for Triple-A Salt Lake earlier this year. Dinga hopes to get back to Salt Lake one day and, not only that, take the next step to the majors. For now, Dinga, drafted by the Angels in the 10th round of last year's major league first-year player draft, is working hard at Single-A Cedar Rapids (Iowa) of the Midwest League.    Full Story

Former Army star Nick Hill was dominant last year, lights out, no doubt, the King of the Hill. In his first season of professional baseball, the lefty put up an 0.51 ERA in 18 games out of the bullpen, spanning 35 innings, for the Everett Aqua Sox of the Northwest League. Hill talked with ArmySports.com earlier this week.    Full Story

The UAB Blazers almost negated some of the significance expected to be a part of Saturday's Tennessee at Memphis clash. "Almost" became the key word, though, because the Tigers had Chris Douglas-Roberts in one of their uniforms.   Full Story

He is the poster boy for one of the greatest Army football teams ever: The 1996 Black Knights. He was tough and fearless. A true leader. It seems like just yesterday quarterback Ronnie McAda was running the option to perfection, piling up yards, leaving opponents in the dust. It’s always tough to pick the 100 best players in a region because there are just so many talented athletes that are deserving of the honor. Some wonder if Connecticut, Texas or even Villanova is a more worthy choice for No. 1 at this point of the season than is Duke. Saturday in New Jersey, the Blue Devils have an ample opportunity to demonstrate that their top rating is anything but bogus. That's because they'll be taking on the Texas Longhorns in a showdown that we could see a repeat of during the Final Four.   Full Story
